
Antonio Sannino

Antonio Sannino was born in Naples in 1959 and developed a passion for painting at an early age, inspired by the coastal landscapes and artistic traditions surrounding him, including the School of Posillipo. After completing his studies, he moved to England in the 1980s, where he spent a decade refining his practice. During this formative period, his palette softened, and his interpretation of landscape evolved, shaped by new environments, artistic dialogue, and introspection.
Upon returning to Italy, Sannino quickly gained recognition for his renewed visual language. His work moved toward a more Informal approach, treating landscape not as a simple representation but as a space for experimentation with light, depth, and technique. He later explored contemporary urban scenes in London, Istanbul, and New York and began working with aluminum, which became his preferred support.
