Silvia Berton

Silvia Berton is an Italian artist renowned for her figurative paintings that often explore the essence of femininity. Born in Marostica in 1985, she divides her time between Veneto and Sicily. Berton’s work is notable for its large scale, scraped textures, and a style that blends international influences with deep roots in Italian tradition. Her portraits, usually set against a dark, solid blue background, depict women in frontal or three-quarter poses. These figures have a “female fierceness” in their eyes, often softened by a touch of melancholy. Her painting style is rich with texture and shows quick, expressive brushstrokes. Before dedicating herself fully to art, Berton worked as a model, but her love for creativity eventually led her to work behind the camera and then to painting. Her work has been featured in various group exhibitions across Italy and the U.S., including prominent shows at the Palazzo Ducale in Genoa and Context Art Miami. Read more...
