Victoria White

American | b. 1981

From her studio in Venice Beach, California, New Orleans native Victoria White wears many hats: painter, sculptor, philosopher, mentor, and teacher. She is renowned for her commanding, large-scale monochromatic portraits that pay homage to the luminaries—artists, musicians, thinkers, actors, and athletes—who ignite her inspiration. White's artistic life emerged from an unexpected turn; a serious health battle necessitated leaving behind her career in corporate law. This challenging period became transformative, leading her to discover a profound synergy between philosophy and painting. Her resulting artworks are distinctive, seeking to illuminate not merely the physical appearance but the very soul of the individuals she portrays. White also draws creative energy from nurturing the next generation, serving as a volunteer teacher and director at Indivisible Arts, a nonprofit where she imparts lessons on creativity, consciousness, and connection to youth.
