Original hand-blown and hand-sculpted Murano glass sculpture.
Signed on verso of sculpture.
Silk fabricates steel frames for hanging figures, including cutting, grinding, welding, sanding, acid baths, and finishing wax. She fastens glass side panels into the steel frame for large-scale hanging figures. Hooks, pulleys, blocks, and chains for hanging figures are found in industrial cast iron. Each hanging torso is shaped to the specific hook(s) that will be part of the finished piece.
