Guided by her fascination with different cultures, communities, and fashion, Amy Shekhter merges digital design with various materials and textures. Layers of media, such as resin castings, plexiglass, beads, and glass, are carefully placed to give each artwork a three-dimensional (3-D) appearance. Each figure is imagined from a distant memory or dream and inspired by the beauty of nature and growth, giving the viewer a sense of joy and wonder while also having them construct their own connection from the various visual elements.
