Carola, or C.O.S. as she is known, creates sculptures characterized by interweaving, flowing forms that create a sense of perpetual movement. She often explores energies, lights, and unpredictable motions materialized from intuitive hand gestures. She works with laser-cut acrylic, molding it with heat in a process she describes as an intense and revelatory experience, aiming to capture moments of illumination and clarity. Sperman emphasizes the importance of the inner spaces and the “heart and soul” of her sculptural forms.
