Quatre Colors Aparien el Mon (Four Colors Appear in the World) is a portfolio of four monumental prints, each exploring the expressive and symbolic qualities of color. Miró treats color not as a decorative element, but as a fundamental force of existence. Plate II: In this plate, Miró balances gestural black forms with vibrant areas of red, blue, green, and yellow, creating a dynamic interplay between structure and spontaneity. The work feels both playful and cosmic, echoing Miró’s lifelong search to fuse the material and the mystical.
The series title suggests a creation myth: colors “appearing in the world” as primal forces.
