Rosa Parks

Rosa Parkes, 2024.
Original oil on canvas.
Hand-signed at the lower right margin.
This artwork is framed and wall-ready.

Rosa Parks, often called “the mother of the civil rights movement,” refused to give up her bus seat to a white man in Montgomery, Alabama, on December 1, 1955. This brave act sparked the Montgomery Bus Boycott, a 381-day protest that led to the desegregation of the city’s buses and fueled the fight for racial equality across America.
Mr. Cute illustrates Rosa Parks’s fight, which culminated in the election of Barack Obama.
