Ramon Vilanova is a Spanish painter who is known for his plein-air paintings of the countryside of Catalonia, Majorca, and Minorca. He was born in 1947 in a small town outside of Barcelona, and he began painting at the age of 16 when his aunt gifted him with a box of paints and an instruction book. He is a self-taught artist and has developed a unique style that is characterized by bold, expressive brushstrokes and a focus on capturing the beauty of nature in the moment. Vilanova paints outdoors, and he is known for capturing the natural world’s changing light and atmosphere.
