Young has said that his lifelong love of popular culture inspired him to create the FAME series. He wanted to create a series of paintings that celebrated the icons of our time. The paintings in the FAME series are not just portraits, however. They also celebrate the power of music and film to shape our culture.
This portrait features a close-up of James Dean’s face, with his iconic smirk and intense eyes. It captures the essence of Dean’s rebellious and charismatic persona.
