The Sun (Le Soleil) (1969) is an original hand-colored copper etching by Salvador Dalí from the celebrated Vignettes from Venus in Furs series. Published by Pierre Argillet, Dalí’s close friend and longtime collaborator, the work was inspired by Leopold von Sacher-Masoch’s influential novel Venus in Furs. Rich in symbolism and dreamlike imagery, The Sun explores themes of desire, sensuality, and transformation through Dalí’s unmistakable surrealist vision. Hand-signed and numbered in pencil, this museum-quality work exemplifies the refinement and imagination that define Dalí’s graphic oeuvre.
