In ancient Greece, nudity began to be an important subject in art. The male body was celebrated at sports competitions and religious festivals, as it was seen as a symbol of the best aspects of humanity: strength, beauty, and athleticism. Female nudity, on the other hand, was associated with sensitivity, procreation, and fertility. Male nudity, on the other hand, was associated with triumph, glory, and moral excellence.
