The Sleeping Beauty Series concept represents the fifty states of America. Each panel has been partially titled with a number referencing the order of each state’s entry or ratification into the union. Each work is constructed on the visual object matter of exhausted, slumberous expressions of human behavior, felt through the drawing of Sparky’s character imagery. Its suggestiveness is meant to reference the social realities of a state of sedative social consciousness.
