William Tillyer is a respected British artist born in Middlesbrough in 1938.
Known for his experimental approach, he works in various mediums, including watercolor, oil, and acrylic painting, as well as printmaking techniques such as etching and screen printing, and sculpture using unconventional materials like wire mesh.

While often engaging with the landscape tradition, Tillyer’s work leans towards abstraction, exploring structure, form, and light, as well as the tension between natural and human-made elements. Tillye has developed a diverse and intellectually rigorous body of work that is internationally exhibited and held in prominent public collections.
